Walking Together in Holiness and Love

I have had to learn many hard lessons in my life. I could give you countless examples! I wish that I had immunity from having to go through tough things, but I know in hindsight that God was walking with me, and had some ‘perfecting’ work to do in me.

I’m sure that you can relate, as we all regularly face struggles, hardships and temptation. What have been some of your toughest journeys that you have faced? Looking back, I hope that you can see that God was in your journey.

God’s Word tells us that he is always at work in us. Romans 8:28 tells us, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

And SINCE he has begun that good work in us à THEN we are called to live together in holiness and love.

Over the past few weeks, as we have looked at God’s Word in the first 3 chapters of 1 Thessalonians, we have seen that God is working in His Church and he wants us to have gratitude and thankfulness, grace and peace in us, his church:

God built his church on his model of faith. (chapter 1)God grows his church by his good news plan. (chapter 2)God sets a foundation for us in his church through God’s Word and prayer. (chapter 3)

This Sunday in 1 Thessalonians 4, we will look at our response to God’s work in us, by walking together in holiness and love. God wants us to live to please God, and to live purposefully in our day to day life as his disciples.

I hope that you will join us this Sunday morning at Northlake in person, or join us Online to hear how God is calling us, his forgiven and holy people, to live a life that is pleasing to Him.

God bless you, we will see you Sunday, Pastor Dale
