Jesus is: _________________. Why is it important how we fill in that blank?

I was reading a book about vision by a well known pastor whose premise was: "God wants to help you fulfill your vision." The pastor filled in the blank with a self-serving or prideful word/phrase. How we fill in the blank makes Jesus fulfill our desires, or causes us to serve Jesus' desires.
