Few would deny that the restrictions and "stay at home" orders of the Pandemic era accelerated or took the lid off a profound culture shift toward selfishness. Psychologists and sociologists are forecasting that it will get even worse through the rest of the 2020s - as people decide that what they want is what they are going to get regardless of the effect on others. We seem to be marching toward the common reflection captured throughout the book of Judges in the Bible that says: "Everyone did what was right in their own eyes."

But is that truly the best way to live? Is that perspective the one we were rescued by Jesus to hold on to?
